She came to me one morning

 

One lonely Sunday morning

I know not how she found me

 

For in darkness I was walking

She asked me name my foe then

I said the need within some men

To fight and kill their brothers

Without thought of love or God

And I begged her give me horses

To trample down my enemies

So eager was my passion

To devour this waste of life

 

 

But she wouldn't think of battle that

Reduces men to animals

So easy to begin

And yet impossible to end

For she's the mother of our men

Who counselled me so wisely then

I feared to walk alone again

And asked if she would stay

 

Oh lady let your hair dark fly

And let me rest here at your side

Have faith and trust

In peace she said

And filled my heart with life

There is no strength in numbers

Have no such misconception

But when you need me

Be assured I won't be far away

 

 

Thus having spoke she turned away

And though I found no words to say

I stood and watched until I saw

Her black coat disappear

My labour is no easier

But now I know I'm not alone

I find new heart each time

I think upon that windy day

And if one day she comes to you

Drink deeply from her words so wise

Take courage from her

As your prize

Pewnej samotnej niedzieli ( spędzonej w samotności )

Her long hair flowing

Jej długie spływające włosy

In the midwinter wind

W wietrze ze środka ( w środku ) zimy

I know not how she found me

Nie mam pojęcia jak mnie znalazła

For in darkness I was walking

Bo spacerowałem w ciemności

And destruction lay around me

I zniszczenie ogarnęło mnie

From a fight I could not win

Walki, której mogę nie wygrać.

She asked me name my foe then

Ona zapytała mnie o imię mojego wroga

I said the need within some men

Ja mówiłem o wewnętrznej potrzebie jakiegoś człowieka

To fight and kill their brothers

By walczyć i zabijać swoich braci

Without thought of love or God

Bez myśli o miłości i Bogu

I błagałem ją, by dała mi konie

To trample down my enemies

By wdeptać moich wrogów

So eager was my passion

Tak gorliwa była moja pasja ( domyślnie: żeby naprawiać, nawracać świat )

By pożreć to marnotrastwo życia.

Ale nie myślała by o bitwie

Która sprowadzi ludzi do poziomu zwierząt

Jakżesz łatwo to zacząć

A potem niemożliwym staje się zakończenie tego

Dla matki naszych ludzi

Która radziła mi tak mądrze

I feared to walk alone again

Że obawiałem się samotnie chodzić

I zapytałem ją, czy nie mogła by zostać ze mną

I pozwól mi odpocząć tu przy tobie

Miej wiarę i ufność

In peace she said

W pokój, mówiła

I wypełniła moje serce życiem

There is no strength in numbers

Nie ma siły w numerach ( w liczbach )

Have no such misconception

Nie masz takiego przekonania?

Ale kiedy mnie potrzebujesz

Bądź pewny, nie będę od ciebie daleko

Myśląc ( myślała ), że zabrakło mi słów, by coś powiedzieć

Stałem wpatrzony, aż zobaczyłem

Moja ciężka praca nie jest lżejsza ( łatwiejsza )

Ale teraz wiem, że nie jestem samotny ( sam )

Znajduję nowe serce za każdym razem
